MUCABI to launch Ali Bukar Dalori youth political mentorship programme in Jos

The Mulapnen Capacity Building Initiative (MUCABI) has announced plans to launch the “Ali Bukar Dalori Youth in Politics” programme aimed at mentoring and equipping young Nigerians for responsible participation in politics and governance.

The programme is scheduled to be launched on June 12, 2026, in Jos, Plateau State, as part of activities marking Nigeria’s Democracy Day.

According to the organisation, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between young people and the political process through civic education, leadership development, policy engagement, advocacy, and mentorship.

MUCABI said the programme would create a mentorship network linking young leaders with experienced political actors, public servants, and community leaders within and outside Plateau State.

The organisation noted that the initiative was also designed to address electoral violence and political manipulation involving youths.

It stated that participants would receive training on peaceful political participation, conflict prevention, democratic values, and issue-based politics.

“The programme is aimed at changing the narrative by encouraging issue-based politics, dialogue, tolerance, and democratic values among young Nigerians,” the organisation said.

“We believe young people must become ambassadors of peace during elections rather than instruments of violence.”

Speaking on the initiative, Executive Director of MUCABI, Nicodemus Samson Beska, said the programme was intended to encourage youths to see politics as a platform for service and nation-building.

“We want young Nigerians to see politics not as a battleground, but as a platform for service, peacebuilding, and nation-building,” Beska said.

He added that the programme reflects the leadership values of integrity, accountability, discipline, and public service associated with Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori.

As part of preparations for the launch, MUCABI disclosed that it had authored a book titled Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori: The Visionary Leader, documenting Dalori’s life, leadership journey, and contributions to youth development, governance, and public service.

The book is expected to serve as a training resource for participants in the programme and will be officially unveiled during the launch ceremony.

In the foreword of the book, Dr. Raphael Audu Adole of the Department of Public Administration, University of Maiduguri, described Dalori as a leader whose interventions in youth empowerment and humanitarian response had contributed significantly to community development in Borno State.

Adole noted that Dalori’s efforts in vocational training, ICT skills acquisition, agricultural support, and humanitarian assistance during the 2024 Maiduguri floods demonstrated responsive leadership in challenging times.

MUCABI stated that applications for the first cohort of participants would open shortly after the official launch.

The organisation added that detailed implementation plans, including security arrangements and programme strategy, would be submitted to Dalori’s office for review and endorsement.

The Jos-based organisation said it remains committed to promoting civic engagement, peacebuilding, leadership development, and youth empowerment across Nigeria.
