Tudun Wada Youth Forum Applauds Jolex Construction, Gov. Mutfwang Over Road Project

The Tudun Wada Youth Forum has commended Jolex Construction Company for what it described as quality workmanship on the ongoing road construction linking Tudun Wada, Sabon Gari, Mado and Kabong areas of Jos.

The forum also praised Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for keeping faith with his campaign promise to rehabilitate critical road infrastructure.

Speaking with journalists during an on-the-spot assessment of the project, the Youth Leader of the forum, Mr. Goshit Maxwell Daniel, said members of the group had consistently monitored the construction work and were satisfied with the standard and pace of execution.

According to him, Jolex Construction Company has not only demonstrated professionalism but has also created employment opportunities for youths and women within the host communities, in addition to fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities.

Mr. Daniel dismissed allegations in some quarters that the contractor was executing substandard work, describing such claims as false, misleading and unfounded.

He explained that the Tudun Wada Youth Forum, made up of leaders from 38 units, has been supervising the project in collaboration with officials of the Ministry of Urban Development.

We have no reason to fault the contractor. What is being reported by some individuals does not reflect the reality on ground,” he said.

The youth leader appealed to Governor Mutfwang to personally visit the project site to assess the level of work done and to ensure the road is completed before the onset of the rainy season.

He recalled that the project, which commenced under the previous administration, had suffered neglect and abandonment before the current intervention.

Also speaking, the Deputy Chairman of the forum, Mr. Hassan Bumba Yakuba, reaffirmed the group’s support for both the state government and Jolex Construction Company, noting that the firm has empowered local youths and therefore deserves encouragement rather than criticism.

The forum warned individuals spreading what it described as malicious reports about the contractor to desist, stressing that such persons do not represent the leadership or collective position of the Tudun Wada community.

While highlighting other pressing needs such as access to potable water, improved healthcare, better schools and skills acquisition centres, the forum emphasized that timely completion of the road project remains a top priority.

The Tudun Wada road network, the forum noted, serves as a major link connecting several parts of Jos, and they urged Governor Mutfwang to ensure its completion in the interest of residents and the wider city.
