Jos North/Bassa youths reaffirm support for zoning, micro-zoning of Reps seat

Youth leaders from the indigenous tribes of Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency have reaffirmed their support for the zoning of the House of Representatives seat to Jos North and its micro-zoning to the Anaguta nation, describing the arrangement as a pathway to justice, equity and peaceful coexistence.

The position was reiterated during a solidarity visit to businessman and youth leader, Mr John Gamasaura Katura, at his residence in Abuja on Wednesday.

In a statement issued afterwards, Katura expressed appreciation to the delegation, which he said was led by Pastor Julius S. Rabo and represented by Mr Ezekiel Joseph Zi, for what he described as a show of unity and shared vision for the constituency.

He said the youths’ endorsement of zoning and micro-zoning reflected a strong commitment to fairness and inclusive representation in the constituency.

“I was particularly strengthened by your clear and principled reaffirmation of support for the zoning of the Federal House of Representatives seat for our Jos-North/Bassa Constituency to Jos-North, and the micro-zoning to the Anaguta nation,” he said.

“This stance is not merely political; it is a profound commitment to justice, equity, and the fair rotation of leadership—principles that ensure lasting peace and give every segment of our constituency a true sense of belonging.”

Katura commended the youth leaders for championing unity across tribal and religious lines, noting that such collaboration was necessary for sustainable peace and development in the area.

He also appreciated the delegation’s recognition of his philanthropic efforts targeted at youth empowerment and community development.

The businessman, who is the Patron of the Plateau Youth Council in Plateau North Senatorial District and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Anaguta Youth Development and Cultural Association, further urged young people to reject political thuggery and other social vices.

“Our strength lies in our intellect, our character, and our unity. A united family always stands strong,” he stated.

He pledged continued collaboration with youth groups and stakeholders in advancing peace, fairness and progress across Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency.
