A coalition of Nigerian diaspora professionals, The Future Platform, has announced plans to hold a Renewed Hope Mega Rally in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, in August 2026, aimed at mobilising Nigerians abroad in support of national development, democratic participation and citizen engagement.
The group said the rally is expected to bring together members of the Nigerian diaspora, community leaders, professionals, youth groups and other stakeholders from across North America to promote unity and constructive involvement in Nigeria’s democratic process.
In a statement jointly signed by the Convener of the group, Sir Austine Dafe, and its Secretary, Mr. Afolabi Adeusi, the organisation said the event would also serve as a platform to showcase the contributions of Nigerians in the diaspora towards the country’s growth and transformation.
According to the statement, the Renewed Hope Mega Rally will provide an opportunity for participants to engage in meaningful dialogue, celebrate achievements and support initiatives aimed at building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
“The Renewed Hope Mega Rally will demonstrate the continued commitment of Nigerians abroad to the progress of their homeland. It will provide an opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, celebrate achievements and support initiatives aimed at building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria,” the statement said.
The group also commended Nigerians for what it described as their resilience and determination in the face of prevailing economic, security and social challenges.
It noted that despite the difficulties confronting the country, citizens have continued to demonstrate courage, optimism and perseverance in their pursuit of good governance, national stability and democratic progress.
The Future Platform further applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its development agenda and praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his commitment to infrastructure renewal, urban modernisation and improved service delivery in the nation’s capital.
The organisation said Wike’s efforts align with the broader objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the areas of capital development, economic growth and efficient public service delivery.
It reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s growth through professional expertise, strategic partnerships, investment promotion and civic engagement, stressing that national development remains a collective responsibility of Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
The group also called on citizens to remain hopeful, united and actively engaged in initiatives that promote good governance, sustainable economic prosperity and national development.
