Dr. Moses Nwan Marks Mutfwang’s 2nd Anniversary with Empowerment Drive in Pushit

Chief Dr. Moses Nwan, mni, Executive Private Secretary to the Governor of Plateau State, has marked Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s second year in office with a grassroots empowerment initiative targeting widows and persons with disabilities in Pushit Ward, Mangu Local Government Area.

The event, held on June 4, 2025, saw the distribution of fertilizer and cash donations to selected beneficiaries across the 28 units of Pushit, aimed at supporting the ongoing farming season and enhancing food security in line with the Governor’s broader agricultural agenda.

Speaking at the occasion, Barr. Mrs. Olivia Dazyam, Chairperson of the Plateau State Gender and Equal Opportunities Commission, commended Governor Mutfwang for reviving the long-neglected gender equality law passed in 2015.

The previous administration neglected it,” she said. “However, with the coming on board of Governor Mutfwang, he immediately looked into the law and implemented it by opening the commission which I’m heading.”

She added that the law has offered protection to citizens and helped resolve family crises and gender-based violence across the state.

Hon. Sani Abubakar Golden, Liaison Officer of Mangu North, praised Dr. Nwan’s initiative as timely and impactful.

The intervention will impact positively on the lives of the people, as the fertilizers and cash donations will aid them in this year’s farming season, which in turn will bring bumper harvest,” he said.

He also acknowledged the Governor’s role in restoring peace to Pushit and his ongoing road projects, especially the link road to Gindiri.

Traditional leaders, including the Mishkaham Pushit, Da. Diner Gupiya, described Dr. Nwan’s efforts as “immeasurable,” noting that the support had brought joy and relief to many households.

The people are happy because they now have fertilizers to farm with, and with the monetary donations, it’s like he has done virtually everything for them,” he said.

The ceremony attracted dignitaries and government officials who lauded both the Governor’s milestone and Dr. Nwan’s commitment to community development.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support and offered prayers for Governor Mutfwang’s administration, with many pledging support for his re-election in 2027.

Goodwill messages were delivered by notable figures including Barr. Mrs. Olivia Dazyam, Hon. Alhaji Sani Idris Shilak, and Hon. Matthew Datong, while royal blessings were given by the Mishkaham Pushit and the Mishkaham Pukah.

The event concluded on a celebratory note with best wishes extended to Dr. Nwan’s son, Panshak, and his bride-to-be, Esther, ahead of their wedding scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Jos.
