Building Bridges, Breaking Boundaries: Dr. Moses Nwan’s Efforts to Strengthen Communal Ties

As Plateau State marks two years of purposeful leadership under His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, one of his key aides, Chief (Dr.) Moses Nwan, mni, Executive Private Secretary to the Governor and National President of the College of Education Gindiri Alumni Association (CEGAA), has continued to stand out for his commitment to peace, humility, and inclusive community service.

In a heartfelt gesture that blended faith, leadership, and compassion, Dr. Nwan visited the Muslim Ummah of Marambam Pushit during the just-concluded Eid-el-Kabir celebration. Coming shortly after the Governor’s two-year anniversary and his own son’s wedding ceremony, the visit served as a timely reminder that love for community transcends religious and political boundaries.

As part of his outreach, Dr. Nwan distributed Sallah packages, including beverages and financial support, to the Izalatu and Tareka 1 & 2 mosques.

Speaking during the visit, he said:“Pushit is not divided by religion; we are one family. Whether Christian or Muslim, we share the same dreams, the same struggles, and the same hopes. Our strength lies in our unity, and it is only through genuine love and understanding that we can build a lasting peace.”

His gesture was warmly received. Many described it as an act of solidarity, especially in a period marked by economic hardship.

A local Muslim leader expressed appreciation:“Chief Dr. Moses Nwan has shown us the true meaning of leadership, serving beyond boundaries. His kindness brings hope, and his example unites us all.”

Beyond the festive visit, the outreach aligns with Dr. Nwan’s broader grassroots empowerment efforts aimed at uplifting vulnerable individuals and building stronger communities across Pushit and Mangu Local Government Area.

His approach reflects the values of Governor Mutfwang’s administration—equity, service, and inclusive governance.

The visit also followed a series of recent events in the area, including the Governor’s two-year anniversary celebration and the wedding of Dr. Nwan’s son, Panshak Nwan, to Esther—a ceremony that attracted dignitaries from across Plateau State and beyond.

In closing, Dr. Nwan offered a message of hope, referencing a verse from scripture:“With God’s guidance, I believe doors of peace, prosperity, and progress will continue to open for Pushit, Mangu, and our beloved Plateau State.”

As Plateau journeys forward under the leadership of Governor Mutfwang, acts like these offer a powerful example of how intentional service and humility can foster unity and lasting change.
