Nigerians in US mobilise support for Tinubu ahead Atlanta mega rally

Nigerians in the diaspora are set to stage a major show of political support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu as preparations intensify for a mega rally scheduled to hold in Atlanta, United States, on August 1, 2026.

The event, organised by The Future Platform USA, is being positioned as a strategic mobilisation of Nigerians abroad aimed at endorsing the president’s leadership and reform agenda.

According to the organisers, the rally will bring together Nigerians across the United States and beyond in what is described as a collective demonstration of support for Tinubu’s vision of economic transformation, governance reform, and national development.

Convener of the initiative, Austin Dafe, said the rally reflects a growing wave of diaspora engagement in Nigeria’s political landscape, noting that Nigerians abroad are increasingly taking active roles in shaping national discourse.

“This rally is not just a gathering; it is a statement of unity and commitment by Nigerians in the diaspora to support leadership efforts geared towards repositioning the country,” he said.

Also speaking, the group’s Publicity Secretary, Olakunle Olaosebikan, emphasised that the event would serve as a platform for strengthening ties among Nigerians abroad while reinforcing support for ongoing reforms back home.

The organisers disclosed that the rally is expected to attract a high-profile audience, including political stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters from within and outside Nigeria.

Analysts say the development underscores the rising influence of diaspora communities in Nigeria’s political space, particularly as platforms for advocacy, mobilisation, and international engagement continue to expand.

Beyond its symbolic significance, the Atlanta rally is being seen as part of a broader trend in which Nigerians overseas are leveraging their networks to contribute to national conversations and support policy direction.

The event is open to Nigerians in the diaspora and other interested participants, with organisers expressing optimism that it will mark a significant moment of political alignment and engagement outside the country’s borders.
