RHYE predicts Tinubu victory in Plateau, launches 2027 mobilisation

The Plateau State chapter of the Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE) on Wednesday declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would secure the state’s support in the 2027 presidential election as it inaugurated its state coordinating structure and launched grassroots mobilisation across the 17 local government areas.

State Coordinator of the group, Mr. Wilson Manji, said the organisation was determined to rally youths and other stakeholders behind the Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing confidence that Plateau would deliver the votes needed for Tinubu’s re-election.

“You know what happened in 2023, but 2027 is going to be different. We are going to play a very significant role as we move ahead. Plateau people will deliver the desired votes for President Tinubu,” Manji said.

He urged young people across the state to embrace the Renewed Hope Agenda and participate actively in programmes that promote peace, development and good governance, describing youths as critical stakeholders in Nigeria’s democratic future.

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, represented by the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Josephine Piyo, said the youth engagement platform aligns with his administration’s commitment to youth inclusion, innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable development.

He described the inauguration as more than the unveiling of a political structure, saying it reflected a shared vision that recognises young people as indispensable partners in nation-building.

The governor charged members of the newly inaugurated coordinating team to distinguish themselves through integrity, innovation, inclusiveness and selfless service.

“Let your activities go beyond political mobilisation and become a catalyst for leadership development, civic education and meaningful community engagement,” he said.

Mutfwang reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting programmes that expand opportunities for young people, stressing that the state’s future depends largely on the productivity and success of its youthful population.

He also commended President Tinubu for placing youth development at the centre of the Renewed Hope Agenda, saying sustainable national development requires the active participation of young people.

Also speaking, Plateau State Renewed Hope Ambassador and Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Hon. Ernest Abner Da’a, defended the Federal Government’s economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market.

While acknowledging that the reforms initially imposed hardship on Nigerians, he argued that they had significantly increased revenues available to the Federal Government and the states for infrastructure and development.

According to him, projects such as the reconstruction of the Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe Highway, the student loan programme, improved welfare for members of the Armed Forces and growing investor confidence were evidence of the administration’s achievements.

Abner called on members of APC support groups to close ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We have one mission, one party, one message and one mobilisation framework. Every candidate of our party deserves our support. We must put aside divisions and work together for victory,” he said.

National Coordinator of RHYE, Hon. Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka, said President Tinubu’s economic policies had strengthened the financial capacity of state governments through increased allocations, enabling greater investment in infrastructure and other development projects.

He urged the newly inaugurated Plateau leadership to sustain engagement with youths, students, women, traditional rulers and political stakeholders as part of efforts to build a formidable grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 polls.
