
Between November 13 and 20, 2023, Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) launched Operation HAKORIN DAMISA IV, a significant security operation in which 7 bandits were neutralized and 33 suspects arrested in connection with various crimes including kidnapping, murder, arms dealing, criminal attacks, railway vandalism, cattle rustling and farm destruction.
During this period, several key arrests were made. They included the capture of Mr Suleiman Mohammed who was found with an AK 47 rifle and a mobile phone in Bakin Kogi area, Kaduna State, and five suspects involved in a criminal attack on a local farmer, Mr Sati Pewat, at Tileng Paat village in Plateau State.
Additionally, numerous arms dealers and perpetrators were apprehended during the week including Mr Rufai Abdullahi, a suspected arms dealer captured in Zangon Kataf area, and notorious arms dealer duo, Abdullahi Ali and Ibrahim Hussaini who were caught en route to Zamfara State with large quantities of ammunition.
Responding to various distress calls, the troops promptly defused potential attacks on vulnerable communities and made successful incursions into bandit zones, leading to the neutralization of several bandits and recovery of large caches of arms and ammunition.
Operation SAFE HAVEN also spearheaded the rescue of 15 kidnapped victims and the arrest of various criminals including four suspected railway vandals and the arrest of a wanted criminal, Lukman Aminu, at Tafawa village.
Major General AE Abubakar, the Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, reassured the public of the ongoing commitment of OPSH and other security agencies towards ensuring the safety of citizens in Plateau, Southern Kaduna and Bauchi States.
He expressed gratitude for public support and assured swift justice for the suspects currently held in OPSH custody.
