Approximately 5,000 pastors and church leaders from over 50 denominations across all 36 states of Nigeria have gathered in Jos for a transformative scriptural reawakening, focusing on the teachings of the Holy Bible.
The four-day “Glory to Glory” conference, led by Pastor Daniel Edward Horn from the Reformation Baptist Church in North Carolina, USA, is organized in collaboration with Arise and Walk Christian Ministries.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday at the EYM Headquarters in Jos, Brother Zingak Nengak Deshi, the National Coordinator of Arise and Walk Christian Ministries, confirmed that they have been hosting pastor and church leader conferences for nearly eight years at various locations.
“In fact, we have conducted conferences in almost every northern state of Nigeria. We recently finished one in Gombe, and now we are dedicating four days here in Jos. Following this event, we will travel to Kafanchan and then to Lafia, where Pastor Daniel Edward Horn will conclude the program,” he stated.
Deshi emphasized that the overarching goal of the initiative is to awaken the Church of God, encouraging it to fulfill its role by emanating the light received from Christ to uplift society.
“A society thrives on the light provided by the Church. When the Church shines its light, the society becomes brighter. However, when the Church is dark, the society suffers. This indicates that the challenges we observe in society often mirror the Church’s failure to provide that essential guiding light,” he explained.
The coordinator further revealed that this year’s theme focuses on eschatology, specifically the teaching of Christ’s second coming.
“Our aim is to prepare the Church of God for the return of the Lord. A primary reason for this theme is the prevalence of misconceptions surrounding Christ’s second coming. The Bible clearly addresses this matter, and we wish to delve deeply into what the scriptures truly convey about His return”.
“A crucial takeaway is that as Christ’s return approaches, society should improve rather than deteriorate. Our objective is to inspire the Church to positively influence society, ensuring that conditions get better, not worse.”
Moreover, Deshi acknowledged that Pastor Daniel Edward Horn has been uniquely prepared by God to lead all teaching sessions, which are centered solely on scriptural instruction. “
It’s all about grounding participants in the scriptures,” he noted.
He also mentioned that transportation, meals, and accommodation are provided for all attendees as the conference runs from Monday, November 18, to Thursday, November 21, 2024.
