Pantu Brothers Donate Books to Mangu Schools

As part of activities marking the 2025 Children’s Day celebration and the second anniversary of Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s administration, the Pantu Brothers Initiative, led by Mr. Yari Kumchi, has donated branded exercise books to schools across Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The benefiting schools include Mwanghavul Community Secondary School (MCSS), Kerang; LEA Primary School, Fwangkwak; Nyemlighit Community Comprehensive Secondary School, Mangun; and Government Secondary School, Ampang West.

During the flag-off ceremony, Mr. Panmun Silas Pantu, speaking on behalf of the Pantu Brothers, said the initiative was not just about providing stationery but about building unity, offering hope, and supporting families struggling with economic hardship.

This gesture is more than just about stationery — these books represent unity, hope, and support in a time when many families are grappling with economic hardship,” he stated.

He added that the books serve as educational palliatives aimed at easing financial burdens on parents while encouraging learning among students.

The books, which are branded with the images of the Plateau State Governor and his Deputy, also carry a unifying message titled “The Plateau Anthem”.

According to Pantu, the anthem reinforces the pillars of peace, brotherhood, and collective progress on which the future must be built.

It is a declaration that peace, brotherhood, and collective progress are the pillars upon which our future must be built,” Pantu said.

He praised Mr. Yari Kumchi for his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, stating that his investments have opened meaningful pathways for the younger generation to lead.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the community, His Royal Highness, Miskhagham Philemon Mutang, expressed gratitude and highlighted the significance of the gesture, particularly to MCSS Kerang.

MCSS Kerang remains the only Mwaghavul-owned school. I encourage all our students to be serious with their education so they can uplift the good image of the Mwaghavul nation,” he said.

The Executive Chairman of Mangu Local Government Council, Hon. Mwolpun Emmanuel Bala, represented by the Council Secretary, described the donation as historic.

He acknowledged its broader impact beyond Kerang, adding that many alumni of the school are now serving in key sectors of society.

“I want to appreciate the donor of this exercise book, Honorable Yari Kumchi, who has deemed it fit to assist the Mwaghavul nation, not just Kerang people,”

Education Secretary, Mrs. Jennifer Bamtu, an alumna of MCSS Kerang, thanked the sponsors and called for more community-driven support.

May God bless you for intervening. Education sponsoring is for everybody — it’s not just government responsibility alone,” she noted.

Also speaking, Comrade Tankat Joseph Dawur, proprietor and former NAPSS President, described the donation as timely and aligned with the state government’s development mantra.

PTA Chairman of MCSS Kerang, Mr. Mbang Sunday, described Hon. Yari Kumchi as a selfless son of the soil.

On behalf of the students, the Head Boy and Head Girl of GSS Ampang West, Joseph Jerry Peter and Yatep Vera Gaius, expressed their appreciation.

We thank you for this generous donation and pray for God’s continued blessings. Please continue the good work,” they said.

Powered by the Pantu Brothers and Jacob Tonging, the event served not just as a donation but as a rallying call for unity, educational advancement, and collective responsibility for a stronger Plateau.
