Yuletide: Shendam Chairman Distributes Over 1,000 Bags of Rice

In a move aimed at bringing relief and fostering unity during the festive season, Hon. Kemi Nicholas Nshe, Executive Chairman of Shendam Local Government Area, has distributed over 1,000 bags of rice to Christian families, traditional rulers, youth organizations, women groups, and security agencies across the local government.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony held at the Shendam VIP Lounge, Hon. Nshe explained that the gesture aligns with his administration’s tradition of providing support during festive periods.

He noted that the distribution, which included religious and security bodies, was carefully organized to ensure inclusivity and orderliness.

“This initiative has been a consistent part of my leadership since my first term.

“Providing food during the festive season is a way of showing care and commitment to the well-being of our people.

“This year, we extended the effort to security agencies in recognition of their vital role in maintaining peace and order.”Hon. Nshe stated.

He added that representatives from various groups were involved in coordinating the allocation of items to avoid overcrowding and ensure fairness.

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Shendam Chapter, Rev. Francis Sani, praised the initiative, describing it as unprecedented.

He commended Hon. Nshe’s efforts to address the needs of the people during challenging economic times.

“The chairman has demonstrated exceptional leadership and compassion by ensuring that families, religious bodies, and security agencies benefit from this initiative.

“On behalf of CAN, we appreciate this thoughtful gesture, which has brought relief to many families this season.” He said.

Rev. Sani further acknowledged Hon. Nshe’s role in fostering peace and unity within the local government and called on residents to support the administration through prayers and active participation in community development.

Similarly, the traditional council, represented by Ciroman Alfred Shaldas, commended the chairman’s generosity, highlighting its impact on the community during the festive period.
