First Lady Donates N500 Million to Aid Conflict-Affected Families in Plateau

The wife of the President, and the Chairperson of Renewed Hope Initiative Foundation, Mrs. Remi Tinubu, has generously donated N500 million to aid 500 families who have been affected by violent conflicts across six local government areas in Plateau State.

During her visit to Jos, the First Lady not only made this substantial donation but also extended her sympathies and encouragement to the victims. She emphasized the urgent need for concrete actions to alleviate the suffering of these affected families, stating, “A time like this is not to come and express our sympathies, but to take concrete actions.”

Mrs. Tinubu clarified that the N500 million represents their modest support to help these families rebuild their lives by providing essential resources for shelter and other needs. She reassured the affected families, “You are not alone in the journey of recovery; we stand with you in solidarity and prayers. I urge you not to lose hope but to have faith in God.” She Said.

State Governor Caleb Mutfwang praised Mrs. Tinubu’s compassionate leadership and dedication to humanity, highlighting her commitment to putting people’s needs ahead of politics. He encouraged the beneficiaries to use the resources wisely and to support other families who were not selected.

Mrs. Chioma Uzodinma, part of the entourage, explained the meticulous selection process, ensuring that those directly affected were the beneficiaries from six local governments: Mangu, Riyom, Barkin Ladi, Bassa, Bokkos, and Jos South LGA.

Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Buba, expressed his gratitude to the First Lady for her generous gesture and offered a prayer for wisdom for President Tinubu in guiding the nation’s affairs.

Plateau Central Senator Diket Plang, Chairman of the House Committee on Employment and Productivity, along with his wife, Prof Janet Plang, were among the members of the delegation alongside Mrs. Tinubu.

Sen. Plang expressed his gratitude to the First Lady for her benevolent gesture to the residents of Plateau State and noted how President Tinubu’s leadership is bringing hope to everyday people through his interest in restoring peace and normalcy in Nigeria’s crisis-ridden regions.
