LGA Secretaries attribute Mutfwang’s APC primary victory to performance, unity

The Forum of Local Government Secretaries in Plateau State has attributed the landslide victory of Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary to his leadership style, developmental projects and efforts at uniting political stakeholders across the state.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Chairman of the Forum, Pharm. Gyang Samuel Isaiah, the group described Mutfwang’s emergence as the APC governorship flagbearer for the 2027 election as a reflection of public confidence in his administration and grassroots-oriented governance.

The forum also congratulated senators, members of the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly candidates who emerged as flagbearers of the party during the primaries.

According to the statement, Governor Mutfwang’s victory was driven by his “unifying leadership,” particularly his ability to bring former governors and party stakeholders together for the progress of Plateau State.

The group further praised the governor’s developmental strides despite prevailing security challenges, noting that his administration had continued to implement people-oriented projects and programmes that positively impacted communities across the state.

The forum highlighted initiatives in youth empowerment, capacity building, job creation and investor attraction as part of the achievements that strengthened public support for the governor ahead of the primaries.

It also referenced the various recognitions and awards received by the governor, including the Sun Newspaper Governor of the Year 2025 and Silverbird Governor of the Year awards, describing them as evidence of his commitment to good governance.

The LGA Secretaries Forum expressed confidence that Plateau State would witness greater economic growth and development if the governor secures another term in office.

The forum prayed for wisdom, protection and greater success for Governor Mutfwang as he continues to lead the state.
