Hall of Fame Hosts 2nd E-Tourism Awards & Conference 2024 in Plateau State

In an effort to showcase Plateau State as a thriving hub for tourism and economic opportunities, the Mall of Fame Nigeria, along with key partners Somwhere Hospitality & Management Hub, is hosting the 2nd Edition of the E-Tourism Business Awards & Conference 2024..

At a press conference held at Lamonde by Somwhere Hotel in Jos, Plateau state, Mr. Olugbenga Joseph Komolafe, Executive Producer of Mall of Fame Nigeria, emphasized the significance of community tourism development in attracting visitors and fostering economic growth.

According to him,This event aims to highlight the importance of e-tourism in driving sustainable development and acknowledge the efforts of industry stakeholders in promoting tourism in the state

“With a focus on showcasing Plateau State’s rich cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and business potential, the event will serve as a platform to launch initiatives like the National Apprentice scheme and honor outstanding contributors to the tourism sector”.he said.

In her goodwill message, Hon. Jamila Tukur Bitrus, Commissioner of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Hospitality, expressed her enthusiasm for participating in the inauguration of the E-Tourism Award ceremony in Jos.

She highlighted the significance of e-tourism, stressing its utilization of platforms like websites and mobile applications in commercial tourism endeavors.”The theme for this year’s program, the “Global Tourism Ambassador Award,” aligns with the state’s Green Cap Agenda, where tourism holds a prominent position” she stated.

The event also received commendation from the Directorate of the industrial training fund ( ITF), represented by Mrs. Suleyol Fred Chagu, who reiterated the organization’s commitment to empowering youths and promoting skills development in the hospitality industry.

“With a focus on training artisans and promoting professionalism, ITF aims to contribute to the growth of the tourism sector and support the aspirations of the Plateau State government in becoming a leading tourism destination” she said.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rangnaan Kangnaan Co-Founder of Somwhere Hospitality & Management Hub, underscored the importance of hospitality development in enhancing Plateau State’s global positioning.

He highlighted key strategies such as infrastructure development, promotion, cultural and eco-tourism development, training, and capacity building, emphasizing the role of partnerships and collaboration in driving sustainable tourism practices.

The upcoming Global Tourism Award, scheduled for April 6th, will feature discussions on sustainable blue economy, AI in hospitality, and youth empowerment in sport tourism. With collaborations from Mall of Fame Nigeria, Somwhere Hospitality & Management Hub, and other partners, Plateau State aims to become a premier destination for tourism and investment.

The E-Tourism Business Awards & Conference 2024 promises to bring growth and prosperity to the region and Nigeria as a whole.
