BAVCCA Calls for Stronger Security Collaboration, Offers Support to Nigeria’s New Service Chiefs

The Bloggers and Vloggers Content Creators Association of Nigeria (BAVCCA) has congratulated Nigeria’s newly appointed service chiefs, calling on them to intensify efforts toward safeguarding the lives and property of all citizens irrespective of religion, ethnicity, or region.

In a statement issued on Monday, BAVCCA President, Ikechukwu Chukwunyere, described the appointments as an opportunity to strengthen national unity and rebuild public trust amid ongoing security challenges across the country.

He emphasized that the new service chiefs must demonstrate fairness and professionalism in discharging their duties, adding that collaboration with the media—particularly digital creators—would be crucial to winning public confidence.

The service chiefs must not only fight threats but also win hearts and minds. The media, including digital creators and content professionals, are key partners in this mission,” Chukwunyere said.

The BAVCCA president reaffirmed the association’s commitment to promoting national unity, transparency, and ethical reporting, especially as Nigeria continues to face global scrutiny on governance and human rights.

According to Chukwunyere, BAVCCA will leverage its network of more than 5,000 digital creators, bloggers, vloggers, and online journalists to advance narratives of resilience, peace, and collective progress.

He also outlined several initiatives to deepen collaboration between the media and security agencies, including:

Launching joint digital campaigns to promote awareness on security operations, achievements, and citizen responsibilities.

Hosting training workshops for digital creators on responsible reporting of security issues, civil-military relations, and human rights.

Establishing direct communication channels with security institutions to ensure accurate and verified reporting, counter misinformation, and enhance national cohesion.

BAVCCA noted that effective security management goes beyond military action, stressing that citizen awareness, transparency, and public engagement are equally vital.

As the new service chiefs settle into their roles, BAVCCA stands ready as an ally in public education and digital media partnership. With synergy between security leaders and digital creators, Nigeria can usher in a new era of renewed hope one grounded in purpose, transparency, and inclusion,” Chukwunyere concluded.
