Jos, Plateau State—The Cultural Middle-Belt Political Forum has officially endorsed all candidates from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Plateau State, scheduled for October 9th.
This endorsement was announced during a press briefing held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Center in Jos, on October 7th, 2024.
The forum, which consists of young leaders from the Middle-Belt region, expressed that the PDP candidates offer the best opportunity for enhancing grassroots development, fostering inclusive governance, and promoting economic growth within the state.
While addressing the press, the forum’s State Chairman, Prince Ibrahim David, stated that their decision to back the PDP candidates was based on the remarkable achievements of Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s administration, which has consistently prioritized the empowerment of local communities.
He stated “Our endorsement stems from Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s unwavering commitment to grassroots development in Plateau State. His administration’s dedication to empowering local communities and fostering inclusive growth resonates deeply with our values””
“The inclusive governance championed by Governor Mutfwang is worthy of commendation. He has ensured that all the various nationalities of the Middle-Belt have a voice in his administration.”
“Within just one year and a few months in office, Plateau has witnessed and continues to witness grassroots development through the governor’s initiatives. His genuine focus on local needs, job creation, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment aligns with our desire for community-driven progress.”
Highlighting the governor’s significant achievements, he pointed to advancements in infrastructure in rural areas, improvements in education and healthcare services, and the promotion of agriculture and entrepreneurship.
“Governor Mutfwang has introduced significant projects that have not only improved local infrastructure but also empowered our youth and women through various programs. His commitment to promoting agriculture and entrepreneurship as key drivers of economic growth is essential for the future prosperity of Plateau and the entire Middle-Belt,” David continued.
In closing, the forum called upon the people of the Middle-Belt to fully support all PDP candidates across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
“We therefore urge all Middle-Belt citizens to rally behind all 17 PDP Chairmanship candidates and 325 Councillorship candidates. Together, we can ensure a resounding victory for the PDP on October 9th and unite in building a brighter future for our communities,” he emphasized.
