
Members of the National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress, led by the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, paid a condolence visit to the family of the slain State Publicity Secretary, Sylvanus Namang.The committee members visited Jos, the Plateau State capital on Thursday.
Namang, who hailed from the Mangu Local Government Area, was shot dead in the neighbouring Pankshin LG where he attended a burial last week.
He was said to be buying something in a shop in the area when the hoodlums gunned him down
Addressing members of the party’s state working committee who gathered at the secretariat to welcome them, Ganduje, who was represented by the APC deputy national chairman, Ali Dalori, said that the party was deeply pained by the sudden death of Namang.
Deputy National Chairman (South) Chief . Emma Eneukwu reiterated the party’s stance on seeking justice for Namang’s death, affirming their resolve to pursue every avenue to apprehend the perpetrators. Eneukwu assured the bereaved family and the Plateau State community of the party’s unwavering support in this trying time.
“And the only thing our great party and the government in place can do is make sure that we assiduously look into the remote causes of his death and bring to book those behind the act. If he was assassinated, if it was a political assassination, whatever it was, the government must bring the culprits to justice.
“I want to assure you that the party will leave no stone unturned in making sure that we apprehend, or rather, we get the people that assassinated our brilliant person,” he said.
Honorable Durosinmi Meseko, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, echoed the sentiments of his colleagues, calling for swift action from security agencies to unravel the circumstances surrounding Namang’s tragic demise.
“We are calling on all security agencies to ensure they unravel the mystery behind this very evil occurrence,” he urged, underscoring the urgency of the situation.
